Position Information
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be responsible for developing and executing the enterprise-wide global marketing strategy for Robert Half-Talent Solutions in support of business growth, customer acquisition and retention. This individual is also responsible for leading the creation, positioning, maintenance, and evolution of a world-class brand identity that supports the company’s business and reputational goals as a global leader in professional business services which includes hiring, developing a global team and oversight of all TALENT SOLUTIONS marketing functions. The successful candidate will have a strong history of collaboration with sales and operations, building a unified enterprise view of customer pipeline and increasing the velocity of customers through that pipeline, inclusive of running a marketing department structured as a revenue generating partner with P&L responsibility.
The CMO will partner closely with executive leadership and other team members at Robert Half to ensure a high level of collaboration on our go-to-market strategies and customer acquisition initiatives. He/she will partner closely with the Chief Technology Officer and Business Transformation team to lead the organization in identifying, implementing, communicating and overseeing priorities. The ability to work collaboratively from an interdepartmental perspective is critical to be successful in today’s digital age.
The CMO will create a comprehensive strategy, including the website and field offices, to seamlessly blend digital and recruiting capabilities at the client’s direction. The CMO will also ensure that our customers, including candidates along with SMB and large enterprise clients, are heard and understood via feedback channels, user experience, research, and behavioral data mining. She/he partners with field operations leaders on the development of new services and service innovations that meet emerging customer needs and preferences. The CMO will drive digital marketing programs and segmented email campaigns, leveraging A.I., appropriate technology and media to further support customer acquisition and retention.
Collaborating with Corporate Communications and Human Resources, the CMO is responsible for developing programs and content that differentiates Robert Half locally, nationally, and globally, and drives internal and external brand awareness. These materials include mobile and desktop web products, digital messaging and advertising approach, alliance content support, internal recruiting materials, email programs and more.
The CMO will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate a vision, strategy and priorities that motivates the team to innovate and outperform. The successful candidate will be data driven in their decision making and proficient in using the latest data analytics to create enterprise KPIs for the marketing function; overseeing the development of a consistent brand platform and messaging; and dynamic content and employer brand positioning. She/he will be well-versed in customer loyalty and customer experience management, CRM, marketing automation and finding the most effective communication channels to convey information to our target audience.

What You'll Do
- Reports to the President and CEO of Talent Solutions
- The CMO will be responsible for a global team which consists of 200 + employees in marketing technology; automation and analytics; content development and brand management; digital, interactive media and creative services; advertising, online marketing, and web development; customer research and sales enablement; and strategic alliances, public relations, and communications
- Must work effectively as part of a matrix organization with multiple executive & leadership stakeholders across Talent Solutions
- Must be able to distill and present complex information effectively to wide range of audiences
- Responsible for developing innovative, strategic marketing initiatives to drive revenue, increase market share, and make the Robert Half brand and service offering relevant and attractive to additional customer segments through time
- Provide expertise to the organization by building, developing, and managing a marketing team capable of carrying out strategies and tactics
- Play a critical role in overseeing, directing, and implementing the company’s Customer Experience Program
- Set quality objectives, performance standards and priorities that are implemented and monitored across the company with respect to marketing
- Oversee paid social media and all things digital
- Collect, analyze, and make recommendations based on market research, customer research and competitive analysis
- Constantly monitor the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify opportunities, issues, and risks and recommend strategies and tactics to solve
- Own and efficiently and effectively leverage a multi-million-dollar budget, allocating spending and optimizing a blend of channels to hit growth targets, while thinking long-term and being resourceful with staff and expenses.
- Embed a culture that is data and insights driven, set a framework that uses research-driven insights and turn these into strategic action that has a measurable impact on commercial performance.
- Engage external partners such as creative agencies, media groups and technology partners to develop and run best-in-class marketing programs.
- Exhibit proven strategic brand thought-leadership; be an exceptional storyteller, able to see the big picture, propose innovative solutions to complex problems, and articulate clear goals, insights, plans and achievements to executives.
- Lead KPI development, tracking, analysis & reporting of brand tracking, research, and campaign analysis, regularly report out achievements and performance.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- 10+ years’ proven experience leading marketing organizations in large, complex publicly traded global organizations; minimum of 7 + years in a senior leadership leading a world-class, multi-functional marketing organization
- 15+ years marketing experience in comparable industries; corporate communication experience a plus
- Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives
- Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, brand, product, and service management
- Experience working with cutting-edge marketing tools relating to market research, data analytics, website development, product branding, visual communication software, written communication, and public relations
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team- oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage outsourced marketing activities
- Superb effective public speaking skills and professional/polished presence
- The ability to span boundaries and develop relationships across the organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, extremely energetic environment driven by self-motivation and self-initiative
- Ability to focus on driving results and resolutions to complex business challenges
- Deep understanding of changing market dynamics
- High commercial acumen, takes control and drives the business and assume accountability for the performance of the marketing function
- Advanced ability to understand complex models and turn them into pragmatic solutions; strategic thinker, able to translate strategies into actions

The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
$275,000.00 - $350,000.00
